Copywriting and transcreation for the market that has to read it.

I’m Svetlana Arnaudova, a copywriter in Porto. I write landing pages, product pages and emails in English and Bulgarian, and adapt existing copy for readers in the UK, the US, Portugal and Bulgaria.

A unique refuge in the heart of Porto.

NOW WRITING FOR

WHY

British readers skim straight past "unique refuge". Understatement and a small joke do more.

Demo lines for fictional products, written to show approach. Not client work.

Same product, four markets. Pick one and watch the line change.

WHO

You might be here because…

Your Portuguese site works. The English one doesn’t.

It was translated, so every sentence is correct and nobody abroad feels anything reading it. You sell wine, cork, shoes, software or hotel rooms from the north of Portugal and need English that sells them the way the Portuguese version does.

You need clear English, not a London agency invoice.

You’re a small team shipping a product. You want a landing page and a welcome sequence written properly, once, by someone who asks good questions.

Your brand sounds sharp in Bulgarian and flat in English.

Or the other way round. Translation kept the words and lost the attitude. I work in both languages, so I can keep the attitude.

You’re bringing English copy to Portugal.

I adapt it for Portuguese readers and work with a native Portuguese reviewer on every PT-PT text, so the result reads like it was written here.

Not a fit: a 40-page technical manual that has to be translated by Friday. A translation agency will do that faster and cheaper than me, and I’ll happily say so.

Brief, draft, final. That’s the whole process.

No mystery phases, no "discovery sprints". You always know which stage we’re in and what you’ll get next.

01 BRIEF

Brief

You tell me about the product, the reader and the market, by call or in writing. I ask the awkward questions now so they don’t come up in round two.

02 DRAFT

Draft

The first thing you see from me is finished copy, headlines and buttons included. You read it, collect your team’s comments in one place, and send them back.

03 FINAL

Final

Your second revision round, then a clean final. The balance is due on delivery.

Two revision rounds are included on every deliverable. Extra rounds are billed at €70 an hour.

Before and after, with my notes in the margin

Sample projects, written to show approach, not client work.

I can’t show you client testimonials here, so I’ll show you the work instead: a weak "before", my "after", and the reasons in the margin.

"Charming and unique" out. A street name, a breakfast time and a joke about the hill in.
